The Turks and Caicos Islands National Board is seeking a suitably qualified Turks & Caicos Islanders for the post of Deputy Director. 

 

Responsibilities Include:

This position has corporate wide responsibility for the Operations Division at NIB.  The position is responsible for ensuring that: the Board of Trustees and the Executive receive sound advice on the Operations portfolio; the policies and procedures governing operations are adhered to; compliance and enrolment rates are high and growing; contributor’s services and requests are properly documented and processed expeditiously; systems and procedures are updated, documented and implemented to improve the quality of service as well as productivity; human resource activities are open and transparent, marketing and public relations efforts undertaken, information is properly stored and disseminated externally and internally, and that contributors and co-contributors are in good standing with the NIB laws and regulation.

 

Required Experience & Qualifications

This position requires: 

At least five (7) years experience in a management position in a similar environment such as financial services, general insurance, and public services. 

A Master’s Degree/ MBA or similar qualification.   

The incumbent should also possess the following: 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Proven track record of management skills
  • Knowledge of Entrepreneurship skills, and Social Marketing
  • Proficient Financial analysis 
  • Knowledge of Computing and Information Technology

 

 Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, guide, coach and mentor the staff of the NIB
  • Manage the insurance operations spanning: enrolment/registration, compliance, contributor service, customer database, and transactions.
  • Develop and manage the divisional budget.
  • Supervise the work of the Branch Managers, Research & Business Analyst and Marketing & Public Relations Manager.
  • Monitor performance of the division and initiate the necessary corrective action.
  • Coordinate employee performance appraisal for the division.
  • Prepare a wide range of recommendations for the Board of Trustees and the Executive.
  • Assist in the development and execution of training programs for personnel in the divisions.
  • Maintain working relationship with the co-contributor community.
  • Review and revise policies and procedures as necessary and recommend same for approval.
  • Ensure approved policies are implemented and adhered to.
  • Develop the divisional operations plan.
  • Draft Tender documents for projects emanating from the division
  • Assist in the development of the corporate Strategic Plan.
  • Review and makes the necessary recommendation for revision of legislation pertaining to social security.
  • Assist in the general management of the organization.
  • Prepare a wide range of performance reports.
  • Assist the Director and stand in for the Director in his/her absence.
  • Ensure that management and the Board of Trustees’ receive sound advice on insurance operations activities
  • Responsible for the risk management function of the board which includes the identification, assessment and monitoring of key risks, and provide periodic reports to the Director. 

 

Compensation will be within the range of US$90,001 to US$110,000.
