WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

A Disablement Benefit is payable to an insured person who suffers permanent loss of physical or mental faculty as a result of an employment injury or an occupational disease. There is no minimum contribution requirement, as this benefit falls under the Employment Injury provisions.

The degree of disablement is assessed by a medical board, which evaluates the loss of faculty as a percentage. Reassessment may be carried out periodically to determine any change in the degree of disablement.

Benefit rate definition: The Disablement Benefit is calculated based on the percentage of disability as assessed by the medical board, following a schedule of rates established under the National Insurance regulations.
